The Alberni Valley Bulldogs beat the Cowichan Valley Capitals Friday (Jan 19) evening in a high scoring affair 7-6.
Bulldogs fans didn’t have to wait long to hear the goal horn as 51 seconds in Paul Selleck would net his 13th goal of the season assisted by Julian Benner. However, the Capitals would score two unanswered in the first to take the 2-1 lead into the dressing room.
During the second period it was all action as a total of seven goals were scored, four from the Bulldogs and three from the Capitals.
Christian Simeone would add two goals while Tyler Vanuden and Keaton Mastrodonato would add one each while Cowichan’s Tate Coughlin added two goals himself and Azzaron Tinling added one.
The Capitals would get the lead in the third period at 13:10 by Ty Pochipinksi which would would be retaliated by Keaton Mastrododonato which would send the game to overtime.
Late into the second and final overtime Darren Rizzolo would pop one in to take the game 7-6 and send the Bulldogs fans home happy.
