The Alberni Valley Bulldogs are pleased to announce the acquisition of Goaltender Kevin Jebson from the Burnaby Express. In return the Bulldogs traded defenseman Shane Malone who played 41 games last season in Alberni.
Kevin was the starting goaltender in Burnaby last season where he played in 51 games and won 29, lost 21 and tied 1. Kevin had a goals against average of 3.7 and a save percentage of .895 in 3,000 minutes of playing time with Burnaby.
Both Kevin and Shane are 1989 born players who have played games in the Western Hockey League. Both Burnaby and Alberni run the risk that either player could make their respective WHL teams. Shane is attending the Vancouver Giants camp and Kevin is attending the Moose Jaw Warriors camp.
With Frank Slubowski having season ending knee surgery on the 26th of August and Harrison May attending a WHL camp, we didn?t have any option but to make a move for another goaltender.
Shane was an important part of our young improving team last season, but you have to give up something to get something. Shane will be missed and the entire Bulldogs organization wishes him all the best in his future hockey endeavors.?
