It was nothing more than an inter-squad game, but for the staff and players of the Alberni Valley Bulldogs the game marked the closest thing to normal since the pandemic started all the way back in March. A training camp doesn’t really start until you get to face someone in another jersey, so at least for today the Bulldogs had to settle for home white against road red in the club’s first inter-squad game of the extended training camp powered by Van Isle Ford & Pacific Chevrolet GMC Buick.
After trailing 6-3 in the 3rd, team White roared back to force overtime. Nothing was settled in the extra session and rookie forward Kobe Assam from Kelowna, BC put the puck past Luke Pearson to win it for White. Assam also scored during regulation time.
Other team White goals came from Acee (2), DeDobbelear (2) and Klassen.
Team Red got a hat-trick from veteran forward Stephen Castagna while Beneteau, Tritt & Bosse added singles.

Bulldogs hit the ice next week as they open Panago Pre-Season play with a trip to Nanaimo to take on the Clippers on Friday night.
