The Alberni Valley Bulldogs are pleased to announce that Brandon Buhr (02) forward has committed to the Clarkson Golden Knights NCAA Division I Men’s Hockey Program for 2022-2023 season.
The commitment comes just days after a weekend to remember for the 18 year-old Burnaby native. On Saturday night in front of no less than seven NHL scouts, Buhr had a 3rd period hat trick to lead the Bulldogs back against the Victoria Grizzlies to force OT. In the shootout Buhr added another goal to cap a tremendous night.
In BCHL pre-season play, Buhr leads the Bulldogs in goals with 6 and has added 3 assists in 12 games played.
Bulldogs head coach & general manager Joe Martin was pleased to Buhr get rewarded for his early season efforts. “Brandon has had a great start to the year which comes as no surprise to us. He played his midget career through, finishing off at West Van Academy Prep and had the chance to finish the year in the BCHL, where he did more than just fit in. Not a lot of top players finish their midget eligibility, and the extra time helped him dominate minor hockey which will help do that at our level. When he goes to Clarkson in a couple of years, he’ll continue that trend. The whole staff is thrilled and we’d like to congratulate Burhsy and his whole family.” said Bulldogs head coach Joe Martin.
Buhr and Bulldogs return to the ice tomorrow night when they host the Nanaimo Clippers.
