Bulldogs 22-23 Schedule Released

The BCHL announced today, June 9th, the schedule for the Alberni Valley Bulldogs 2022-2023 regular season.

The Bulldogs will kick off season with a trio of road games.  Port Alberni will open in Victoria against the new-look Grizzlies on September 23rd and then travel to Duncan the next night.  The Bulldogs will then travel to Duncan to face the Capitals again on Friday September 30th back  before finally opening at home on Saturday October 1st at 7:00 pm for their home opener against the Powell River Kings.

Other key games for the Bulldogs include a Thanksgiving Monday matinee affair with the Langley Rivermen.  The following week the Bulldogs head to the annual BCHL Showcase in Chilliwack where they will take on the Vernon Vipers and the reigning BCHL champions, the Penticton Vees.  Speaking of the Vees, they will pay a visit to the Multiplex on November 25th for their lone visit of year.

The annual Teddy Bear Toss will take place on Saturday December 3rd against the Chilliwack Chiefs, and the Bulldogs will also play host to a special New Year’s Eve game against Powell River on December 31st.

Bulldogs President David Michaud likes the look of the schedule for the Bulldogs faithful. “We work hard to limit the number of games when we’re asking fans to come out on a week night.” said Michaud. “Crowds are always smaller during the week so I’m excited to say that we don’t have a single mid-week game on home ice this year. Our games will predominately on Friday and Saturday evenings with only a single Sunday and a couple of holiday Monday’s.

The Family Day game vs Nanaimo returns for another year.  Last season, the Family Day game was one of the highest attended games of the season and Michaud was excited to see it return. “I’m hopeful this can become an annual tradition for our hockey club.  Having our closest rival come here on family day is a great day for our community and hockey club.”

The season will conclude on February 25th at home against the Grizzlies.

Game 1 of the BCHL Coastal Conference Quarterfinal would be on Friday March 31st, and with any luck it will be right here at the Dawg Pound for the 2nd straight year.  There is sure to be tons of exciting BCHL action between September and March.

Bulldogs 2022-2023 Ticket Information:

Bulldogs season tickets remain on sale.  Adult tickets are just $299 + GST.  The club has set a goal of having 800 season ticket holders in place before the puck drops on October 1st.  Current season ticket holders will have until Monday August 1st to renew their seats. After the 1st, all unsold seats will be open to the general public for sale.

While season ticket prices remain unchanged for yet another season, the price for game day walk up will be raised to $18.00 up from $16.00 last season.  “We are doing everything we can to protect the rate for our season ticket holders. They have been priced at $299 for many years and we’re proud to keep them at the price.  In saying that, the cost of virtually everything we do has risen dramatically over time and it’s important that we recognize that in our pricing strategy.  Even with the modest increase, when you factor that local youth are 18 and under when accompanied by an adult thanks to the San Group, we’re still a very family friendly entertainment option.” said Michaud.
