The Alberni Valley Bulldogs acquire the playing rights of 2007 born forward Maxime Ly from the Sherwood Park Crusaders, in exchange for 2006 born forward Samuel Leonard.
“We’ve acquired Ly’s BCHL rights, as he is currently in the QMJHL.” said Head Coach and GM Joe Martin,
“If he ever comes available to us, he’s an outstanding player and we hear he’s an outstanding leader. We wish him the best.”
The 5’10, 170 lb centerman spent the last two seasons with the Crusaders, and recently completed a 51 game campaign earning 26 points, including 19 assists.
Hailing from Ste-Julie, Quebec, Ly is committed to Union College of the NCAA for 2027-28.
Veteran Leonard spent the last 3 seasons with the Bulldogs, earning 64 points in 126 games including 42 assists.
“With all our acquisitions someone had to move on.” added Martin, as it’s noted the club can only carry nine 2006 born players.
“That’s the tough part, however Sam gets a fresh start. We wish him the all the best!”
