The Alberni Valley Bulldogs are excited to announce that they have added 2007 born Forward Hudson Closson to their roster.
Closson is 17 years old and is from Cobble Hill, B.C. The 6’2 187 pound Forward began the season with the Western Hockey League’s Kamloops Blazers, where he went pointless in five games played. Prior to that, he played 28 games with the Okanagan Hockey Academy U18 Prep team in the Canadian Sports School Hockey League, where he scored 10 goals and added 16 assists for 26 points along with 113 penalty minutes.
Closson made his Bulldogs debut on the weekend in Powell River, where he scored his first career goal in contributing to the Bulldogs winning back to back games over the Kings.
On the addition of Closson the roster, Bulldogs Head Coach and General Manager Joe Martin commented: “I first met Hudson when he attended our spring camp tryout in Port Alberni a couple years ago. I liked him then, and kept up on his progress over the next couple seasons. He’s a strong willed individual who plays the wing very well. Board battles, net battles, the little things. I really appreciate that in his game. For a young man to really understand his strengths, speaks to who he is.
I’m confident the Bulldog fans are going to like this young man”
On joining the Buldogs, Closson stated: “The entirety of the Bulldogs organization is world class, and I’m very exited to play in the Dawg Pound”
Closson fills the roster vacancy after 2005 born Forward Jesse Allecia left the team to play in the QMJHL. The Bulldogs would like to thank Jesse for his contributions to the organization and the community, and wish him success with his new team, and throughout his career.
