The Alberni Valley Bulldogs knocked off the Nanaimo Clippers 4-2 on Tuesday night in BCHL pre-season action at the Alberni Valley Multiplex.
The Bulldogs got goals from Cam VanSickle, Kai Greaves, Matthew Maltais and an empty-netter from Will Elger.
Callum Tung earned the win in goal for the Bulldogs as he stopped 27 of 29 in the victory.
The contest was a hard-hitting, fast paced game with both teams throwing the body around as the two rivals begin the process of establishing a season-long rivalry. Nanaimo was 2 for 8 with the man-advantage while the Bulldogs were 0 for 5.
The victory improves the Bulldogs recored to 3-2-0-0 in the pre-season.
Up next for the Bulldogs is a trip for a pair of games to Port McNeill to wrap up the pre-season this Saturday and Sunday against the Powell River Kings.
