Bulldogs Bounce Clippers in Spirited Affair

The Alberni Valley Bulldogs knocked off the Nanaimo Clippers 4-2 on Tuesday night in BCHL pre-season action at the Alberni Valley Multiplex.

The Bulldogs got goals from Cam VanSickle, Kai Greaves, Matthew Maltais and an empty-netter from Will Elger.

Callum Tung earned the win in goal for the Bulldogs as he stopped 27 of 29 in the victory.

The contest was a hard-hitting, fast paced game with both teams throwing the body around as the two rivals begin the process of establishing a season-long rivalry.  Nanaimo was 2 for 8 with the man-advantage while the Bulldogs were 0 for 5.

The victory improves the Bulldogs recored to 3-2-0-0 in the pre-season.

Up next for the Bulldogs is a trip for a pair of games to Port McNeill to wrap up the pre-season this Saturday and Sunday against the Powell River Kings.
