The four-game road trip continues for the Alberni Valley Bulldogs (8-3-2) as they stay on the mainland to face off against the Trail Smoke Eaters (7-4-1).
This is one where the Bulldogs should be expecting a tight defensive match-up. As the Smoke Eaters have only surrendered more than three goals once in their last six games.
Which, was a loss to the Prince George Spruce Kings bt a score of 5-3 on November 5th.
However, the Bulldogs are no defensive slouches themselves, as they have allowed the fourth-fewest goals heading into Saturday’s contest.
Thanks in large part to the crazy three-game shutout streak by goaltender Hobie Hedquist.
Fans should of course be hoping for a fast paceed contest between two teams who look similar on paper, but as you all know. It’s hockey and anything can happen on any given night.
And there’s nothing wrong with even a low-scoring game. Just so long as the good side comes out on top.
