Bulldogs edge Capitals 4-3 to extend win streak to 7 and stay undefeated at the Dawg Pound

PORT ALBERNI, B.C. – The Alberni Valley Bulldogs stay hot after a big 4-3 win Friday night over the Cowichan Valley Capitals.

The Bulldogs have now won seven straight games and remain undefeated at the Dawg Pound this season at 8-0.

With the win the Bulldogs improved to 10-8 on the season and now have 20 points just 2 points out of top spot in the Island Division.

On Friday night the Capitals would strike first, before Moe Acee buried his first BCHL goal for the Bulldogs to even the game at 1-1.

In the final minute of the opening frame the Capitals would take the lead back on the Power-Play making it 2-1.

Bulldogs forward Dawson Tritt was the story in the second period. The Spokane Washington product found the back on the net twice to give the Bulldogs a 3-2 lead heading into the third.

Dawson now has 9 goals and has found the back of the net in five straight games.

Austin Spiridakis would make it 4-2 for the Bulldogs just over a minute into the third period with his 6th of the season.

The Capitals would pull within a goal at the 14:57 mark of the third, but the Bulldogs would hold on a 4-3 win.

Jackson Glassford made 24 saves in the victory. Dawson Tritt led the way with 2 goals and 1 assist.

The Bulldogs are back on the ice on Saturday when they host the Vernon Vipers. Puck drop is set for 7 PM at the Dawg Pound.
