Bulldogs fall 3-1 to Clippers on the road Friday night

NANAIMO, B.C.- The Alberni Valley Bulldogs travelled to the Harbour City on Friday night to battle their arch rivals the Nanaimo Clippers.

The Clippers would get on the board first at the 1:45 mark of the opening period.

The Bulldogs out shot the Clippers 8-7 after the first twenty minutes but trailed 1-0.

Jackson Doucet would score his third goal of the season in the second period to tie the game up for the Bulldogs at 1-1.

However in the third the Clippers would score two quick goals in less than a minute to grab a 3-1 lead and hold on for the win.

The Bulldogs out shot the Clippers 29-28.

Jackson Glassford made 25 saves for the Bulldogs in the loss. Jackson Munro was named third star of the game.

The Bulldogs were a perfect 4/4 on the penalty kill and 0/1 on the power play Friday night.

The Bulldogs are back on the ice Saturday at the Dawg Pound when they host the Powell River Kings. Puck drop is set for 7:00 PM.
