Bulldogs fall 4-3 to Chiefs in overtime

For a third straight time on home ice, overtime was needed, and for the first time the opposition were the winners as the Bulldogs dropped a 4-3 decision to the Chilliwack Chiefs in overtime.

Zeke Nicholson scored twice in the first 12 minutes to put the Bulldogs up 2-0, but Dakota MacIntosh answered to make it 2-1 after one.

Grayson Badger made it 3-1 in the second, before Ty Campbell answered to make it 3-2 after two.

Just 20 seconds into the third, Brady Milburn tied it. There was no scoring the rest of the way, with both goalies coming up big as the game went to overtime.

The Bulldogs failed to capitalize on a power play in sudden death, before the Chiefs won it, with Savin Virk walking down the slot and picking the top corner – with the goal being credited to Nico Grabas.

Shots were 47-26 Chiefs, with Owen Bresson earning the win while Colin Winn took the loss. The Bulldogs went 1 for 5 on the power play, while the Chiefs went 2 for 5.

The Bulldogs next see action Friday in Duncan against the Cowichan Valley Capitals, before returning home to host Victoria on Saturday night.
