Bulldogs Head to Duncan Looking to Stay Hot

Winners of six straight contests, the Alberni Valley Bulldogs (12-4-0-0) head to Duncan to take on the Cowichan Valley Capitals (2-11-1-0) at the Big Stick. Puck drop is 7 pm.

The Caps are coming off a win over the Nanaimo Clippers, but are just 1-8-1-0 over their past 10 games.  Prior to their win over Nanaimo, the Caps lone victory on the season came against the Bulldogs.  With 37 goals for, nobody in the Coastal Conference has scored less.  With 63 goals against, nobody in the Coastal Conference has given up more.  With a date against the Clippers at home on Saturday, the worry has to be overlooking the Capitals.

Cowichan Valley recently shipped out their captain, and former Alberni Valley Bulldogs forward Cole Melady to the Coquitlam Express for forward Gavin Giesbrecht.  The payoff was immediate as Giesbrecht notched a goal in his Clippers debut. The Caps have also added Brady Yakesh from Cranbrook and Andrej Kovacevic from Langley.  Kovacevic had a goal and an assist in his Caps debut.

The Bulldogs, are on a roll and they want to keep it going.  8-2-0-0 in their past 10 games, and winners of six straight, the Bulldogs can ill-afford a night off against Cowichan.  The Bulldogs find themselves deadlocked with the Grizzlies with 24 points, just 2 points behind the Surrey Eagles for top spot in the Coastal Conference standings.

The Bulldogs are 9-6-1-0 at the Big Stick over the past 5 seasons.  The Bulldogs dropped a 4-1 decision on Sept 29th in Duncan, and evened the season series with 4-2 win on Oct 14th in Port Alberni.

The Bulldogs Box Office will open at 10:00 am tomorrow for tickets vs. the Clippers, or you can skip the trip and buy tickets online by CLICKING HERE.
