Bulldogs host Chiefs tonight for Teddy Bear Toss

It’s a battle between the top two teams in the Coastal Conference, as the Bulldogs (16-6-1-0) host the Chilliwack Chiefs (15-5-2-0) tonight on Teddy Bear Toss night at the Dawg Pound.

The Bulldogs were in action last night at home, where they won a third straight game, 4-3 in overtime over the Cowichan Valley Capitals.

The Chiefs were in Victoria, where they had a two game winning streak halted with a 5-2 loss to the Grizzlies.

The Bulldog win, coupled with the Chiefs loss, saw the Bulldogs leapfrog them for top spot in the Conference – the Chiefs however have a game in hand.

The lone meeting this season between the teams was on September 28th, when the Chiefs earned a 4-3 overtime win at the Dawg Pound.

Fans are encouraged to bring a Teddy Bear or other stuffed toy in a plastic bag, to throw on the ice when the Bulldogs score their first goal.

The team will deliver the bears in the coming weeks to West Coast General Hospital and local Care Homes, Paramedics, First Responders, the Port Alberni Fire Department and other community groups as gifts for Christmas or for patients and individuals dealing with traumatic scenarios.
