Bulldogs host Chiefs tonight in Nanaimo for game four

(image: Chaisson Creative)

It’s the second meeting between these teams in as many days, and game four of this best of seven series as the Bulldogs host the Chiefs tonight looking to tie the series at two wins a piece.

Much like game one, the Cheifs came out firing last night, scoring three times in as many minutes to open up a 3-0 first period lead for all the insurance they’d need on their way to a 6-2 win.

The Bulldogs trimmed the gap to 3-1 late in the second, but just 21 seconds later the Chiefs replied to halt any comeback attempt.

The Bulldogs appeared a step behind, and besides small flashes of brilliance weren’t able to generate much in the way of offence. They also weren’t able to stay out of the penalty box, as they were penalized seven times. Going into play last night, the only team with less penalty minutes on average per game in the post season was the Penticton Vees.

There’s little time to dwell on it, as the Bulldogs look to even the series tonight heading to Chilliwack for game five Saturday night.
