It’s the first time the Bulldogs will open their season in their own rink since 2011, as they play host to the Nanaimo Clippers tonight as the puck drops on the British Columbia Hockey League’s 2024-2025 campaign.
The Bulldogs went 3 and 1 in preseason play, winning their first three contests before dropping a 6-2 decision at home to the Cowichan Valley Capitals a week ago tonight.
The Clippers went 2 and 2, last seeing action Saturday night in Victoria where they defeated the Grizzlies 5-4 in a shoot out.
The Bulldogs won the lone preseason head-to-head match up on September 11th in Nanaimo by a 7-5 score.
Returning from last year’s Coastal Conference finalist roster are: Cole Bishop, Samuel Léonard, Zeke Nicholson, Grayson Badger, Wyatt Blace, Phil LaLonde and Brady McIsaac up front.
On Defence, returning are: Anthony Ip, Caden Tremblay and Lenny Greenberg.
New to the team this season are Defenceman Evan Stastny, Jonathan Wong, Alexander Ståhl, Calle Sandström, Kenyon McIsaac and Alexi Gregoire.
New to the Forward ranks are Antoine Gauthier, Gianni DiVita, Will Mitchell, Jesse Allecia, Mac Richardson, Jacob Wingfield and Dryden Kuramoto, while new in the crease are Evan Winn and Ryder Shea.
Game time is 7:00, but pregame festivities begin with a Tail Gate party at 5:00pm, with Food Trucks and Entertainment.
Local Youth 18 and under receive free admission when accompanied by an Adult, thanks to the Tseshaht First Nation.
