Bulldogs Make it Four Straight

The Alberni Valley Bulldogs used a three goal 2nd period to propel them to a 5-3 win over Victoria on Wednesday night in Port Alberni.  The win was the Bulldogs 4th straight.

After a scoreless 2nd period the Bulldogs erupted for 3 goals in just over 3 minutes of play. Stephen Castagna got his 9th and 10th goals on the season, while Logan Walker scored his first BCHL goal in beautiful fashion.  Brady MacDonald had the lone goal of the 2nd for Grizzlies who trailed 3-1 after 40 minutes of play.

The Bulldogs pushed their lead to 5-1 in the 3rd and chased Grizzlies starter Carter Woodside from the goal at the 10:11 mark of the 3rd.  Brandon Buhr had his 8th, while Adam Jeffrey chipped in with his 4th goal of the season.

The move to replace Woodside with Justin Easter seemed spark the Grizzlies.  Eddie Yan got his 3rd at 16:10 and Jake Veilleux had his 2nd of the year at 19:28 to make it 5-3. That was as close as the Grizzlies could get.

Luke Pearson turned aside 34 Grizzlies shots for the win.

Grizzlies were 1 for 3 with the man-advantage while the Bulldogs were 1 for 5.

The win improves the Bulldogs record to 6-2-1-1 and moves them just two points behind the Grizzlies who fall to 8-3-0-0 with the loss.
