Bulldogs remain undefeated at the Dawg Pound after a 5-3 win over Victoria

PORT ALBERNI, B.C.- The Alberni Valley Bulldogs are on a roll right now after a 5-3 win over the Victoria Grizzlies on Friday night.  The Bulldogs have now won three games in a row and remain undefeated at the Dawg Pound this season.

Austin Spiridakis (3) got the scoring started for the Bulldogs late in the opening period Friday night after a nice pass from Tommy Bannister. After 20 minutes the Bulldogs led 1-0.

Ryan Doolin (4)  would put the Bulldogs up 2-0 in the second period at the 12:34 mark. Followed but a short-handed goal from Dawson Tritt (2) who made it 3-0 for the home side.

The Grizzlies would add a pair of goals before the second period came to an end.  The Grizzlies out shot the Bulldogs 29-16 through forty minutes.

In the third, the Grizzlies would tie the game 3-3 with a goal just over four minutes into the period. The Bulldogs would take the lead back with just under five minutes to go in the period with a nice goal from Josh Zary (2). Jacob Bosse (2) would get the insurance marker for the Bulldogs just 74 seconds later, to make it 5-3.

Jackson Glassford made 36 saves in goal for the win.

The two teams will meet again on October 19th in Victoria.

The Bulldogs will look to stay hot on Saturday when the top team in the nation rolls into town, the Penticton Vees.

The Vees are a perfect 11-0 on the season after a 6-2 win over Powell River last night. Game time Saturday is 7 PM.

The Bulldogs will need the support of the best fans in the BCHL for this game. Port Alberni your our 7th man, come out and be loud !
