Bulldogs show plenty of bite to extend win streak to six games

COLWOOD, B.C.- The Alberni Valley Bulldogs have now won six straight games after knocking off the Victoria Grizzlies 6-2 on Saturday night.

Dawson Tritt got the scoring started for the Bulldogs just over two minutes into the opening frame with his 7th of the season.

It also marked the fourth straight game that the Spokane, Washington product has found the back of the net.

At the 4:38 mark of the first Stephen Castagna would put the Bulldogs up 2-0.

In the second period it was all Bulldogs, with goals from Tyler Kostelecky, Jackson Doucet and Ryan Doolin.

The Bulldogs chased Grizzlies starting goaltender Joe Howe from the game and took a commanding 5-0 lead into the final period.

The Grizzlies would score two goals in the third before Austin Spiridakis got one back for the Bulldogs to make it 6-2.

The six goals from the Bulldogs matched a season high.

With the win the Bulldogs improve to 9-8 on the season and sit in third spot in the Island Division with 18 points.

Eleven different Bulldogs’ got a point Saturday night while Goaltender Jackson Glassford made 31 saves.

The Bulldogs will look to make it seven wins in a row on Friday when they host the Island Division leading Cowichan Valley Capitals.
The Bulldogs are undefeated at the Dawg Pound this season.
