The Bulldogs opened the scoring just over four minutes in, as Cole Bishop banked a one-timer home from in tight off a between the legs centering pass by Samuel Leonard. Seconds later, the Eagles tied it on the rush on a pass across the crease that went off a Bulldog defender and in past Colin Winn. The Eagles were later awarded a goal, but it was waved off after video review. The score remained tied into the late stages of the period when Surrey took a 2-1 lead with under a minute to play in the period when Ryan Evenhuis one-timed a loose puck off a shot block past Winn to make it 2-1 with under a minute to play. Jacob Terpsta would reply almost instantly, on a pretty one-on-one move and backhand finish past a diving Aiden FIscher to make it 2-2 with 15 seconds to play in the period.
The Eagles came out with a good push to start the second, but the Bulldogs pushed back as the period wore on. Both goalies would be tested, but neither team would find the net as it stayed 2-2 heading into the third.
The third period was tight checking, with not much in the way of chances early. The Eagles had a great chance to take the lead seven minutes in, but Colin Winn robbed Brady Kudrick on a cross-crease set up. Aidan Fischer then came up with a breakaway save on a shorthanded opportunity for Teague McAllister. The Bulldogs took a 3-2 lead with six minutes to play when Brendan Ruskowski picked off a rim in the far corner and centered to a wide open Grayson Badger, who one-timed it home. Surrey would respond to tie it on a Jagjeevan Phangura wrist shot that appeared to be going high and wide but hit a Bulldog defender and the back and went in as the game went to overtime.
Double overtime would settle nothing, with the Bullogs having several great chances early, but Aidan Fischer coming up big to keep the game going. The Eagles pushed later in the frame, but Colin Winn was solid as the game went to double overtime.
Double overtime again settled nothing. with Colin Winn coming up with not one but two clear cut breakaway saves on Brandon Gill and Gavin Rocha to keep the game going into triple overtime.
Triple overtime would finally find a winner, as Wyatt Davis walked into the zone and fed Cole Bishop in the left circle, where he fired a wrist shot past the glove of Fischer to end the game at 8:23 of overtime.
Shots favoured Surrey 81-52, with Colin Winn earning first star honours with the win while setting a franchise record stopping 78 shots. Aidan Fischer took the loss while earning second star honours. Each side went 0 for 2 on the power play.
With the win, the Bulldogs take a 3-1 series lead, and will look to end the series Friday in Surrey.
