The Clippers opened the scoring two minutes in on a Dylan Kinch goal, and took a 2-0 lead on a five minute power play before the game was ten minutes old on an Elliot Perreault marker.
The Bulldogs made it 2-1 in the second, as Zeke Nicholson scored on a Brady McIsaac and Grayson Badger set up.
The Bulldogs evened it while shorthanded early in the third, with Brady McIsaac scoring on a breakaway set up by Zeke Nicholson to make it 2-2, but the Clippers took a 3-2 lead six minutes in on a Joel Plante goal.
They would hold that lead into the final two minutes, when the Bulldogs tied it with their net empty as Gianni DiVita worked the puck back to Brady McIsaac who put a shot on net that hit Zeke Nicholson in front to make it 3-3 with 1:40 to play.
McIsaac would draw a penalty on an end-to-end rush in overtime, and then win the game with his second of the night taking a pass from Caden Tremblay off a Grayson Badger set up before walking in and picking the top corner to set off a wild celebration to make it a 4-3 final.
Shots were 30-27 Bulldogs, with Colin Winn earning his first career BCHL win in net, while Chazz Nixon took the loss.
The Bulldogs went 2 for 7 on the power play, and also scored once while shorthanded, while Nanaimo went 1 for 5.
The Bulldogs host the Salmon Arm Silverbacks Saturday night.
