Bulldogs unveil 2019/20 opening night roster

MEET THE 2019/20 ALBERNI VALLEY BULLDOGS

What started as a group of 43 Alberni Valley Bulldogs hopefuls when Main Camp opened back on August 19th has been whittled down to the a final group of 23 who will don the Bulldogs uniform when the team when the 2019/20 BCHL regular season begins on the road tonight against the Powell River Kings. The opening night roster includes 10 players returning from last year’s squad as well as five veteran acquisitions and nine rookie signings. Below is a brief profile of each player, including number of Junior A seasons played, hometown and statistics from the 2018/19 season.

GOALTENDERS

#30 Luke Pearson (2001) – 3rd Year from Whitby, Ontario – 25 wins, 13 losses and 1 tie in 39 games with the OJHL’s Whitby Fury.

#31 Jackson Glassford (2001) – 1st Year from Qualicum Beach, B.C. – 12 wins, 8 losses and 1 tie in 21 games with the BC Major Midget League’s Vancouver NW Hawks.

DEFENCEMEN

#3 Tim Gould (2000) – 3rd Year from Moncton, Nova Scotia – 6 goals and 23 assists in 54 games with the SJHL’s Notre Dame Hounds. Committed to the University of Maine.

#4 Jackson Munro (2000) – 3rd Year from Vancouver, B.C. – 3 goals and 15 assists in 44 games with the Merritt Centennials.

#5 Hayden Hurst (2001) – 4th Year from Richmond, B.C. – 2 assists in 19 games with the Bulldogs.

#6 Jimmy Rayhill (2001) – 1st Year from New Hartford, New York – 8 goals and 20 assists in 31 games at The Gunnery Prep School. Committed to Cornell University.

#7 Moe Acee (2001) – 1st Year from Ballston Spa, New York – 4 goals and 7 assists in 26 games with Avon Old Farms Prep School. Committed to St. Lawrence University.

#8 Carson Hemenway (2002) – 1st Year from Delta, B.C. – 3 goals and 16 assists in 39 games with the BC Major Midget League’s North Island Silvertips.

#24 Grayson Valente (2000) – 3rd Year from Vancouver, B.C. – 8 goals and 14 assists in 57 games with the Bulldogs.

#9 Mitch Deelstra (1999) – 2nd Year from Gowanstown, Ontario – 20 goals and 15 assists in 57 games with the Bulldogs.

#10 Tyler Kostelecky (2001) – 1st Year from Maple Grove, Minnesota – 14 goals and 16 assists in 24 games with Maple Grove High School. Committed to Arizona State University.

#11 Dawson Tritt (2000) – 2nd Year from Spokane, Washington – 17 goals and 15 assists in 57 games with the Bulldogs.

#12 Jackson Doucet (1999) – 3rd Year from Victoria, B.C. – 13 goals and 34 assists in 55 games with the Bulldogs.

#13 – Jacob Bosse (2001) – 1st Year from Longueuil, Quebec – 28 goals and 35 assists in 54 games with Bishop’s College Prep.

#14 Isaac Pascoal (2001) – 1st Year from Kingston, Ontario – 27 goals and 13 assists with the PJCHL’s Amherstview Jets.

#15 Ryan Doolin (1999) – 2nd Year from Hanover, Massachusetts – 5 goals and 6 assists in 46 games with the USHL’s Chicago Steel and Lincoln Stars.

#16 Tommy Bannister (2001) – 1st Year from Clayton, New York – 33 goals and 50 assists in 68 games with Northwood Prep School.

#17 Josh Zary (2001) – 2nd year from Nanaimo, B.C. – 4 goals and 1 assist in 14 games with the Bulldogs.

#20 Caige Sterzer (2000) – 3rd Year from Kimberley, B.C. – 5 goals and 12 assists in 55 games with the Surrey Eagles.

#21 Stephen Castagna (2001) – 2nd Year from North Vancouver, B.C. – 4 goals and 9 assists in 57 games with the Bulldogs.

#26 Olivier Fizet (2001) – 1st Year from Baie-D’Urfe, Quebec – 18 goals and 26 assists in 53 games with Bishop’s College Prep.

#27 Ethan Jones (2001) – 2nd Year from Nanaimo, B.C. – 6 assists in 44 games with the Bulldogs.

#28 Austin Spiridakis (2002) – 2nd Year from St. Albert, AB – 6 goals and 5 assists in 56 games with the Bulldogs. Committed to Quinnipiac University.

#29 Ryan Moon (1999) – 3rd Year from Kelowna, B.C. – 5 goals and 7 assists in 25 games with the Bulldogs and Cowichan Valley Capitals. Ryan is recovering from an injury and will not start the season on the active roster.
