It’s the first elimination game of the series, as the Bulldogs carry a 3 games to 1 series lead into play tonight as they visit the Eagles at the South Surrey Arena.
The Bulldogs put themselves in this scenario with a 4-3 triple overtime win Wednesday night at the Dawg Pound. Cole Bishop scored twice, including the winner, while Jacob Terpstra and Grayson Badger also found the net.
The Eagles controlled the bulk of the play, out shooting the Bulldogs 81-52. Colin Winn was nothing short of heroic, setting a franchise record for saves made and shots faced in what was the longest game in Bulldog history.
All that is just that – history. Expect the Eagles to be desperate tonight, as their backs are against the wall. The Bulldogs will need to match their emotions as they attempt to win the series and put them away to end their season.
They’ll no doubt have the start to game two in their minds, where the Eagles came out with two goals in the first five minutes to win their only game of the series. It’s a building that the Bulldogs have shown they can win in – they won game one by a 3-1 score to take a 1-0 series lead a week ago tonight.
Game time is 7:30.
