Bulldogs Winning Streak Ends Against Vees

The Alberni Valley Bulldogs road trip didn’t get off to the start they were expecting. As the Bulldogs fell to the Penticton Vees by a score of 2-1 in overtime. Snapping the Bulldogs four-game winning streak. That also featured a 3 game shutout streak being held by Hobie Hedquist.

The first period wouldn’t see any scoring between these two teams. That also meant that the Bulldogs had now gone 11 straight periods without surrendering a goal.

However, in the second period, the Vees would eventually end that streak as that would take a 1-0 lead just 58 seconds into the middle frame. And it would stay that way going into the second intermission.

And in the third period, the Bulldogs would tie the game up 1-1 after Mirko Buttazzoni (5) would get on the board just over two minutes into the third period.

And this game would then need extra time as the two teams couldn’t solve each other in regulation.

And in the overtime, the Vees would capitalize on the powerplay to secure themselves a 2-1 victory.

With the single point, the Bulldogs are now stuck with the Victoria Grizzlies and the Nanaimo Clippers having 16 points for the season currently in a stalemate for second place in the Coastal Division.

Which makes the Bulldogs also one point behind the top-seeded Langely Rivermen (7-2-3).

The next Bulldogs game will take place on Friday, November 12th as they will pay a visit to the Cranbook Bucks.

Puck drop will begin at 7:00 PM and if you’re unable to make it to the game. You can catch the action live over on BCHL TV. A link for the broadcast will be down below.
