The Bulldogs got off to an energetic start, but again trailed early as just 2:03 into the game Brady Milburn buried a Caleb Elfering pass under the crossbar from the slot. The Bulldogs went to a 4 on 3 power play soon afterwards, and threatened frequently and hit two posts, but couldn’t cash in on the opportunity. A follow up power play didn’t yield any chances, and late in the period the Chiefs made it 2-0 when Brady Milburn stuffed a wrap around on goal that was stopped by Winn twice, but Dustin Renas shovelled the rebound home on a scramble.
The Bulldogs had an oustanding chance early in the second, but Quintin Miller came up with a one-timer save from in tight on Cole Bishop. Seconds later, Chilliwack went up ice and made it 3-0, with Caleb Elfering one-timing home a cross-crease feed up and over Winn. The score stayed that way into the back half of the period, when the Chiefs scored twice in quick succession to blow it open – the first from Carter Anderson from right in front, high glove off the bar and in, the second from Connor Dick walking off the wall and down the slot and scoring high glove side to make it 5-0 after 40 minutes.
The Bulldogs got on the scoreboard early in the thrd as Grayson Badger stole the puck at the Chiefs line from Connor Dick and set up Jacob Terpstra with a cross-ice one-timer that he snuck under a diving Miller to make it a 5-1 game. There was fireworks seconds later, as Connor Frost got the better of Connor Dick in a one-sided fight. The Bulldogs were unable to chip away at the deficit through the period before the Chiefs added two more in the final five minutes from Adam Boatter and Nico Grabas to make it a 7-1 final.
Final shots were 42-34 Chiefs with Quintin Miller earning the win while Colin Winn took the loss. The Bulldogs went 0 for 4 on the power play while the Chiefs scored once on three opportunities.
With the win the Chiefs move on to the Coastal Conference final series, and the Bulldog season ends.
