Former Alberni Valley Bulldogs bench boss Jim Hiller has been named the interim head coach of the Los Angeles Kings.
Hiller was the Bulldogs head coach from 2004 to 2006. In two seasons with the Bulldogs, Hiller went 75-33-9-3.
Hiller guided the Bulldogs to their most successful regular season in club history in 2005-2006 when the club went 43-12-3-2.
After leaving the Bulldogs, Hiller spent the next 8 seasons in the WHL before embarking on his professional career with stops with the Red Wings (14-15), Toronto Maple Leafs (15-19), and the New York Islanders (19-22). The 54 year old Hiller joined the Kings as an assistant coach two years ago.
This will mark Hiller’s first chance to be a head coach in the NHL.
