Grizzlies Edge Bulldogs

The Victoria Grizzlies visited Weyerhaeuser Arena Friday night in a Halloween matchup with the home town Bulldogs.

Jonathan Millhouse scored the lone goal of the first period for the Grizzlies, despite firing 19 shots at Alberni goalie Matthew Wong.  In the second, Jackson Garrett got the Bulldogs on the board when he connected on a goal set up by Mitch MacMillan and Mark Morikawa on the power play. MacMillan put the Bulldogs ahead when he scored an unassisted marker at 11:28 of the second frame. Tyler Matheson evened the game before Myles MacRae scored the eventual game winner for the Grizzlies.

Alexandre Peck picked up the win for the Grizzlies kicking aside 29 saves. Wong was solid for the Bulldogs, turning aside 44 shots that the Coastal Conference leading Grizzlies sent his way.

Notes: Matthew Wong was named the games First Star. Mitch MacMillan picked up two points including his first goal in a Bulldogs uniform. Next action for the Bulldogs is Saturday November 1st, when the Westside Warriors make their only visit to Weyerhaeuser Arena this season.
