Grizzlies Late Goal Gives Them Win Over Bulldogs

The Victoria Grizzlies got a late 3rd period goal from a familiar source on Monday night as they defeated the Bulldogs 4-3 at the Multiplex.

Ellis Rickwood scored his 6th of the season, and 5th in two games agains the Bulldogs with just 1:48 remaining in regulation time to give the Grizzlies the win.

Brandon Buhr (3), Stephen Castagna (1) and Adam Jeffrey (3) all scored for the Bulldogs in the loss.  The Bulldogs line of Buhr, Castagna & Van Unen each had multi-point games.

Luke Pearson made 32 saves in goal for the Bulldogs as he made his 3rd straight appearance to start the season.  With the loss, his record falls to 1-1-1 on the year.

The Grizzlies went 2 for 5 with the man-advantage, while the Bulldogs were 0 for 2.

Other goal scorers for the Grizzlies included Isack Bandu (1), Henri Schreifels (3) and Reid Lindsay (1).

The Grizzlies got 25 saves from Justin Easter.

With the win, the Grizzlies improved their recored to 2-1-0, while the Bulldogs fell to 1-1-1.

The Bulldogs have a quiet week as they aren’t back in Action until Saturday afternoon when they take on the Cowichan Capitals.

Josh Van Unen was the Fortis Energy Player of the Game with his 2 assists.
