Happy New Year! Bulldogs Post Shutout Win Over Caps

The Alberni Valley Bulldogs earned a 2-0 win over the Cowichan Valley Bulldogs in Duncan on Saturday evening to stay hot on the road and kick off 2022 in style.

The Capitals earned a hard fought 3-2 win on Wednesday at the Dawg Pound and the Bulldogs responded with a big road win of their own.

After a scoreless 1st period, Kai Greaves opened the scoring in the 2nd with his very 1st BCHL goal. That would be all the scoring on the night until the final minute of the game when Brandon Buhr put the game away with an empty-net goal to close things out. For Buhr, it was his 10th of the season.

Hayden Dunford earned his 1st win and 1st BCHL shutout as he stopped all 19 shots he faced on the night.

The win improved the Bulldogs record to 16-9-3-0.

The Bulldogs now have the week off before hosting the Caps once again on Friday night at the Dawg Pound.
