Jackson Doucet leads the attack for the Bulldogs who down the Rivermen 6-4 on Saturday night

LANGLEY, B.C- The Alberni Valley Bulldogs have now won four straight road games after defeating the Langley Rivermen Saturday night 6-4 in a wild game.

The Rivermen would strike first just over two minutes into the opening period putting the Bulldogs down 1-0 early. However Josh Zary would change that at the 6:37 mark of the period with his 6th of the season knotting the game at 1-1.

The second period was a wild one with both teams combining for seven goals. The Bulldogs would retake the lead early in the middle frame thanks to Stephen Castagna’s 8th marker of the season just thirty seconds into the period.

The Rivermen would then take the lead back with two goals just thirty seconds apart to make it 3-2. Oliver Fizet would tie the game back up for the Bulldogs with his 2nd of the season at the 4:43 mark of the period to make it 3-3.

After the Rivermen took the lead back for the third time in the game, Jackson Doucet would bury two goals late in the period his 8th and 9th on the season to put the Bulldogs up 5-4 after two periods.

Just one goal would be scored in the final frame and it came off the stick of Ryan Doolin his 14th of the season to seal the 6-4 win for the Bulldogs. Docuet led the Bulldogs with 3 points (2G,1A) and was named the games first star.

Jackson Glassford made 29 saves in the win.

The victory is the second straight for the Bulldogs who are now 19-14-0-2 on the season. The Bulldogs wrap up their weekend road trip with a stop in Surrey to face the Eagles this afternoon. Puck drop is set for 4 PM.
