Chemainus native John Hawthorne has been named this weeks Jowsey’s Furniture Player of the Week.
Hawthorne who currently sits with a .914 save percentage through 13 games this season earned his first shutout this past weekend.
Friday night at the Dog Pound the Bulldogs played host to the Nanaimo Clippers where Hawthorne manged to kick away all 16 shots he faced and was named the second star in the 2-0 win.
On Saturday night Hawthorne came in to relieve Cole Demers where he also stood on his head kicking away 25 of 26 shots he faced in 33:58 minutes of play in the 4-0 loss to the Vernon Vipers.
