The Alberni Valley Bulldogs dropped their 3rd straight game on Saturday as they fell to the Langley Rivermen 2-1 at the George Preston Arena.
Lucas Buzziol put the Bulldogs up 1-0 with a short-handed goal in the 2nd, but the Bulldogs couldn’t hold on as Langley tied the game on the power play in the 2nd, and got the game winner from Luke Ashton just as another Langley power play expired early in the 3rd.
Hlib Artsatbanov was solid in the loss as he stopped 26 of the 28 shots Langley sent his way.
The Bulldogs were 0 for 7 with the man-advantage on the night, while handing Langley 7 power play opportunities of their own.
Next up for the Bulldogs is a home-and-home series with the Nanaimo Clippers next weekend. The Bulldogs open the weekend on the road on Friday, before returning to the Dawg Pound on Saturday night for the rematch. Remarkably, the Bulldogs and Clippers won’t see each other again during the regular season.
