The Alberni Valley Bulldogs dropped a 5-2 decision to the Victoria Grizzlies on Tuesday night at the Q Centre in Colwood.

Matthew Maltais opened the scoring in the lone goal of the first period.  For Maltais, the goal was his 11th of the season.

The Grizzlies would score the only 2 goals of the 2nd period, and add to their lead 6:22 into the 3rd when Owen Bohn scored his 2nd of the game to make it 3-1.

Nicholas Beneteau gave the Bulldogs some life at 9:35 with a power play goal to make it 3-2.  The goal extended Beneteau’s point streak to 19 games.

Ryan Watt’s 4th of the year put the game away at 16:52 of the 3rd as he was allowed to walk out in front of the Bulldogs goal and put it past Hobie Hedquist.  Luc Pelletier finished the scoring with an empty netter at 18:19.

Hobie Hedquist took the loss in goal, his 11th of the year as he stopped 28 of 32 shots on the night.

The loss dropped the Bulldogs overall record to 27-18-3-1.  Victoria moved to within 2 points of the Bulldogs for 3rd in the Coastal Conference.

These two clubs will do it all over again in Victoria on Friday night.
