Mitch MacMillan Scores 50 Goals in 49 Games

Alberni Valley Bulldogs forward Mitch MacMillan has been named the British Columbia Hockey League's Player of the Week for the week ending January 17th, the league announced Monday.
MacMillan hit a rare milestone last week, scoring his 50th goal of the season in just his 49th game during an 8-2 victory over the Langley Chiefs. The 20-year old posted a two-goal, two-assist effort in Sunday's win, which was the 14th consecutive victory for the Bulldogs.
The Penticton, B.C. native also came up big in on Friday night in Powell River. In that game between the Coastal Conference's top two teams, MacMillan scored once and set up the game winner by younger brother Mark.
MacMillan finished the week with three goals and six points in three games. He is the first BCHL Player to score 50-in-50 since Kyle Turris accomplished the feat during the 2006/07 campaign.
