New Acquisitions Lead Bulldogs to OT Win

The Alberni Valley Bulldogs got a late 3rd period marker from Stephen Castagna to force OT and then won the game of a beautiful 2-on-1 play with newcomers Oak MacLeod finishing a pretty set up from Ryan Tverberg who was making his debut after being acquired yesterday from the Toronto Jr. Canadiens.

The Bulldogs lead 2-1 after 20 minutes, and 3-2 after 2 periods however the Grizzlies rallied early in the 3rd scoring just 60 seconds into the period and added the go-ahead goal just 3:43 into the period.

Much like last Friday, the Bulldogs found a 3rd period rally themselves, though not quite as dramatic as their 5 goals come from behind effort of last week. Stephen Castagna scored at 15:30 of the 3rd and Jackson Glassford made a couple of game savers late to send the game to OT.

The roof of the Multiplex might have blown off had the Bulldogs faithful been in attendance during the overtime as the newly acquired duo of Leafs pick Ryan Tverberg and Oak MacLeod teamed up for a beaut of a winner.  Tverberg also scored in his debut game and had several other opportunities throughout the evening.

Tim Gould and Brandon Buhr also scored in the win for the Bulldogs who evened their pre-season record to 4-4-0-1 with their 2nd straight win.  Jackson Glassford made 40 saves in the win, his 2nd straight.
