Pair of Alumni Nominated for Hobey Baker Award

A pair of former Alberni Valley Bulldogs were nominated this week for the Hobey Baker Award.

The first nominee was fan favourite Keaton Mastrodonato who suited up for the Bulldogs in 125 BCHL games.  Mastrodonato would scored 40 times and add 54 assists in his Bulldogs career before moving on to Canisius College in Buffalo NY.  After putting up 17 points in his freshman season, Mastrodonato is on a point-per-game pace in the early going for the Golden Griffins with 3 goals and 2 assists in the club’s first 5 games.

The second nominee was former Bulldogs captain Ryan Steele who leads SHU in scoring with 4 goals and 3 assists for 7 points in 7 games.  Steele was a part of the Bulldogs for two seasons form 2016-2017 and 2017-2018 before he was moved to the West Kelowna Warriors. In 96 games with the Bulldogs, Steele scored 17 goals and chipped in with 39 assists.
