The COVID-19 pandemic has posed unprecedented challenges for the non-profit sector as more Canadians are having to rely on their services while resources that their organizations need to continue their essential work in the community are more strained than ever.
Through Brighter Communities powered by Shaw, Alberni Valley Bulldogs fans and residents of the Alberni Valley can help raise funds for The West Coast General Hospital Foundation. This text-to-donate initiative is a quick and easy way to show your support for the West Coast General Hospital Foundation and help build better communities for our children and youth to live, learn and play.
Shaw, the Alberni Valley Bulldogs, and the BCHL invite you to support the West Coast Hospital Foundation by texting AVKIDS to 41010 before May 31 to donate $10. To make your generous contribution go further, Shaw will match your donation, doubling the amount raised to the West Coast Hospital Foundation. Organizations like the West Coast Hospital Foundation rely on the generosity of our community and they need your support now more than ever as they push to towards their $2 million dollar fundraising goal for the WCGH emergency expansion.
“We’re proud to team up with Shaw to support the WCGH Foundation” said Bulldogs president David Michaud. “The foundation has set a goal of $2 million to for their portion of the emergency expansion at the WCGH, and our club wanted to be involved from the outset. I’ve had numerous discussions with Chris Francey from the foundation and have told him the Bulldogs will be involved to help push them across the finish line.”
The donations and matched contributions raised through this initiative will help ensure that charities like West Coast Hospital Foundation can reach their goals and support improvements to the patient care at WCGH continue supporting the Alberni Valley.
