The Bulldogs comeback to edge Capitals in OT at the Dawg Pound

PORT ALBERNI- The Alberni Valley Bulldogs picked up two key points on Wednesday night thanks to a huge comeback win over the Cowichan Valley Capitals.

The Capitals would get on the board first at the 3:01 mark to take a early 1-0 lead. Mitch Deelstra would tie the game at 1-1 at the 9:52 mark of the period with a short-handed tally his 20th goal of the season. However the Capitals would add on a pair of goals to make it 3-1 before the period ended.

The Capitals would extend their lead to 4–1 in the second period before Deelstra’s second of the game pulled the Bulldogs within two.

Down 4-2 in the third period, the Bulldogs would get goals from Tim Gould and Stevie Castagna to tie the game at 4-4. Despite being out shot 17-9 the Bulldogs would force overtime thanks to some great saves by Luke Pearson.
