Tung Commits to Uconn for 24-25

The Alberni Valley Bulldogs are proud to announce that 03 goaltender Callum Tung has committed to play NCAA Div 1 hockey at Uconn for the 24-25 season.

Tung came to Port Alberni for the Bombers inaugural season back in 21-22 and garnered instant attention with play in the VIJHL.

Tung joined the Bulldogs last season and appeared in 5 games before being sidelined for the balance of the BCHL season.  Tung would return to the Bulldogs in the playoffs and actually appeared in game 4 of the Fred Page Cup Finals as he stopped 38 of 41 shots against the Penticton Vees.

This season, Tung is 8-4-0-0 with a 2.27 and .930 save % for the Bulldogs.

Bulldog head coach and general manager Joe Martin was thrilled for his 20-year old net minder. “Callum has the ability to keep calm and make things look easy. He’s extremely athletic and can make saves that a lot of goalies can’t.  We very happy for Callum and his family and we look forward to continue developing him this season to get him ready.”

Congratulations to Callum and his family!
