The Alberni Valley Bulldogs are proud to announce the commitment of 2003 born Goaltender Callum Tung for the 2022-2023 BCHL Season.
Tung spent the 21-22 season with the VIJHL’s Port Alberni Bombers after graduating from the BCEHL’s Vancouver NE Chiefs. Tung quickly became a fan favorite after becoming the Bombers number 1 goaltender. Tung finished his rookie year in spectacular fashion as he posted a .951 save percentage in the playoffs as he nearly led the Bombers to a opening round victory against the top-seeded Campbell River Storm. Tung’s heroics included stopping 79 of 81 shots in a OT loss.
Joe Martin and the Bulldogs are hopeful the extra work Tung saw as a Bomber will help him in his transition to Junior A hockey. “In his first year of junior, Callum was leaned on heavily. He learned lots, and played a lot. We believe this experience has helped shape him into a very strong BCHL goalie.
Tung and the Bulldogs will open training camp on September 2nd at the Alberni Valley Multiplex.
