4-Point Weekend For The Dogs

The Alberni Valley Bulldogs completed the weekend sweep with another Overtime win over the Powell River Kings this afternoon at the Multiplex.  The fan's got their money's worth as the Bulldogs offense exploded for 12 goals over the two games on Friday and Sunday.

The Bulldogs came out firing with 3-0 leads in both games.  But maintaining the advantage proved to be a difficult task as both the Cowichan Capitals and the Powell River Kings fought back valiantly to send the Dogs into Overtime.

The late-game heroics laid on the sticks of Evan Tironese and Manny Gialedakis with their respective OT winners.

Lars Hepso recorded his second hat-trick in as many games while adding two assists on Friday night.  Evan Anderson posted a four point night against the Capitals and Captain Ryan Lough contributed with back-to-back two point games.  Manny Gialedakis potted two on Sunday afternoon.

Jay Deo and Adam Todd were the respective winners between the pipes as they both faced 40+ shots.

AP Josiah Friesen and Rookie Jon Brumwell each scored their first BCHL goal against the Capitals.

The Bulldogs move into sole possession of 2nd place in the Island Division in this young season as they hit the road next weekend to take on Coquitlam, Langley, and Surrey during the Mainland trip.  You can tune into 93.3 The Peak and log onto FastHockey to catch all the action as the Dogs keep it rolling on the road.
