The Alberni Valley Bulldogs got contributions from all 4 lines as they defeated the Coquitlam Express 7-4 in front of the largest crowd of the year with 1347 fans at the Multiplex on Friday night.
Chase Klassen opened the scoring just 3:11 into the 1st period to send the Teddy Bears flying with his 3rd of the season. Finn Brown had a pair of goals (9th & 10th), while Brandon Buhr (8), Mirko Buttazzoni (7th), Ethan Leyer (5) & Josh Zary (12th) into the empty net to ice the game shorthanded at 17:57 of the 3rd.
The Bulldogs jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the game before the Express roared back with 3 straight in the 2nd to make things interesting before the Bulldogs put the game away with 3 goals in the 3rd period.
Hobie Hedquist earned his 9th win of the season making 30 saves for the Bulldogs while Connor Mackenzie took the loss stopping 19 of 25.
The win improves the Bulldogs recored to 12-7-3-0 and moved into 3rd place in the Coastal Conference. Coquitlam dropped to 6-13-1-2.
The Clippers are on deck next for the Bulldogs tomorrow night at 7:00 pm in Nanaimo.
