After Big Win in Penticton, Bulldogs Look for Okanagan Sweep

The Okanagan has provided the Bulldogs with a couple days of warm temperatures and sunny skies. It’s the type of weather that reminds you of warm spring nights during a long playoff run.  After a total team effort in Penticton, Bulldogs fans and staff can hope it’s a sign that the team is rounding into playoff form at just the right time.

The Bulldogs got goals from Lenny Greenberg (4th) and the game winner off the stick of Nicholas Beneteau (16th) early in the 3rd period as they knocked off the Interior leading Vees 2-1.  For Penticton, it was just their 3rd loss on home ice this season.

Callum Tung was sensational as he picked up his 20th victory of the season while making 37 saves on the night.

The Bulldogs now must turn their attention to the Vernon Vipers who are fresh off an OT win over the Nanaimo Clippers.

The Vipers have been dealing with an arena issue all week and have been forced to move this weekends games to Kal Tire North, a smaller community rink.  It’s a shame for both the Vipers and Bulldogs as Vernon had been routinely drawing close to 3000 fans per game since the new year.

The Vipers sit 4th in the Interior and enter action tonight with an identical 29-19-1-0 record as the Bulldogs.  Vernon is led offensively by Owen Kim, the former Langley Rivermen.

The Bulldogs return home next Friday and Saturday when they host the Chilliwack Chiefs and the Powell River Kings for another big weekend at the Dawg Pound.
