Buhr Picks Up BCHL 3rd Star Honours for the Week

The Bulldogs Brandon Buhr was named the BCHL’s 3rd Star of the week.

Buhr was the most clutch player in the league last week with both of his goals standing up as game-winners. He chipped in a pair of assists as well to finish with four points in two games.

On Friday night, the Burnaby, B.C. native assisted on Alberni’s opening goal early in the first period against the Nanaimo Clippers, then scored on the power play early in the middle frame to give his team a 3-0 lead in a game they would eventually win 4-2.

The following night against the Wenatchee Wild, Buhr scored shorthanded to give the Bulldogs a two-goal advantage, then added an assist just 16 seconds into the third in a 4-1 victory. He was named first star of the game.

Since returning from Clarkson University in December, the 20-year-old has three goals and three assists for six points in seven games.

Hobie Hedquist was an honourable mention as he picked up 2 wins while posting a 1.50 GAA and a .943 save percentage on the weekend.
