Bulldogs Acquire Hansen from Omaha Lancers

The Alberni Valley Bulldogs announce today that they have acquired 1993-born forward Matthew Hansen from the Omaha Lancers of the USHL.
 
Hansen, from Saint Cloud, Minnesota, played a full year in the USHL as a 17-year-old for the Cedar Rapids Rough Riders during the 2010/11 season after being selected by the Rough Riders in the 4th round, 53rd overall in the USHL Entry Draft.
 
The 5’10”, 170lbs right handed forward put up a point-per-game with the NAHL Austin Bruins after playing his first 14 games with the Des Moines Buccaneers of the USHL.
 
Hansen is a product of the highly-touted Russell Stover U16 midget program where in 2009/10 he put up 19 goals and 31 assists for 50 points in 38 games.
 
“We are very happy to have Matt join the Alberni Valley Bulldogs and he comes to us highly recommended from the Omaha Lancers,” said Alberni Valley Bulldogs head coach Kevin Willison.” “Matt is sure to add some offensive depth to our line up,” concluded Willison.
 
Hansen is also already committed to the NCAA Division I program for the Colorado College Tigers in 2013/14.
 
The Alberni Valley Bulldogs hope to have Hansen in time to practice with the team next week leading up to two away games on Friday, October 26th in Prince George and Saturday, October 27th in Merritt.
