Bulldogs Add Finnish Defender for the 23-24 Season

The Alberni Valley Bulldogs are proud to announce the addition of 03 defenceman Matias Myllykoski for the 23-24 season.  The 20 year-old Myllykoski spent last season playing in the Finnish U20 league for Kiekko-Espoo.

Myllykoski chipped in with 5 goals and 14 assists, good for 19 points in 44 games from the back end, good for 2nd among defenceman on his club.

The signing of Myllykoski marks the Bulldogs first foray into international waters since the BCHL announced its independence from Hockey Canada back on June 1st.  Each BCHL club is allowed to now carry 2 non North-American players on their rosters for next season.

The Bulldogs are eager to add the 5’9″, 170 pound veteran to their line-up for next season. “Matias is a very strong skater, he’s an aggressive veteran defenceman who will help our team in numerous areas, I can’t wait for him to get here and get started with us.” said Bulldogs head coach and general manager Joe Martin.

Matias and his new teammates begin training camp on September 1st at the Multiplex.  Season tickets remain on sale, don’t miss a second of the Bulldogs action at the best prices.  Visit online, or the Bulldogs box office today to secure your seat.
