Bulldogs Add Josh Bonar To Scouting Staff

Port Alberni, BC – The Alberni Valley Bulldogs are very pleased to announce the addition of Josh Bonar to the Bulldogs scouting staff.

Bonar, born in Port Alberni, BC, played for his hometown Bulldogs from 2002 to 2005 and in that time put up 154 points in 138 regular season games. Bonar sits third all-time in franchise scoring behind Tyler Ruel (247 points) and Jordan Kremyr (185 points).

Bonar played professional hockey in Europe the last four seasons and is now the assistant coach with the Burnaby Winter Club Academy U18 Prep team.

“I am looking forward to working with the Bulldogs again and helping the organization with bringing in some good young talent for the future,” said Bonar. “It will be a fun process. It is nice to give back to an organization that helped me develop as a person and player.”

Bonar is the second former Bulldog on the scouting staff, joining Joel Quirion who played between the pipes for the team in 2004/05 and is now the team’s regional scout in Quebec.
