Bulldogs fall 7-3 to the Vipers in Vernon on Saturday

VERNON- The Alberni Valley Bulldogs dropped their third game in a row on Saturday night, 7-3 to the Vernon Vipers on the road.

The Bulldogs would open the scoring thanks to Dawson Tritt who notched his 15th goal of the season at the 2:31 mark of the first period.

However the Vipers would answer back with two quick goals at the half way mark of the period to take their first lead of the game 2-1.

Caige Sterzer would pull the Bulldogs even with just under three minutes to go in the period tying the game at 2-2, before the Vipers would re-take the lead just 22 seconds later.

The Vipers would score the only goal in the middle frame, taking a 4-2 lead into the third period.

Captain Mitch Deelstra would pull the Bulldogs within a goal at the 2:10 mark of the third with his team leading 19th goal of the season on the power-play. However that would be the closest the Bulldogs would come in their comeback. The Vipers would score three more goals in just under four minutes to take the game 7-3.
