Bulldogs Force Game 7

The Alberni Valley Bulldogs defeated the Coquitlam Express 3-1 on Saturday night to force a decisive Game 7 on Tuesday night back home at the Alberni Valley Multiplex.

The Bulldogs got a dream start as they lead 2-0 after 20 minutes of play.  Jacob Terpstra struck for his 2nd of the series on the power play at 9:39 of the 1st to open the scoring.  Nicholas Beneteau and Jax Wismer picked up the helpers.

Late the 1st, the Express were buzzing and pushing for the equalizer, but it was Hayden Stavroff killing that momentum with his 4th of the series to give the Bulldogs that 2-0 lead.

Late in the 2nd the Express finally beat Callum Tung as Jake Manfre snuck into the slot on the PP and whistled one past Tung to cut the lead to 2-1 heading to the 3rd.

In the final frame the Express threw everything they had at Tung and the Bulldogs as they directed 20 shots at Tung in frame, but were turn away time and time again by the 20 year old veteran.  With 23 seconds left in regulation, Lucas Buzziol sent Braxton Buckberger away for the empty net tap in to make it 3-1.

The final shots favoured the Express 42-32.

Callum Tung was named the games 1st star with his 41 save performance.

The Bulldogs finished the night 1 for 3 with the man-advantage, the Express were 1 for 2.

The scene is now set for a winner take all Game 7 on home ice for the Bulldogs.
