Bulldogs Let Golden Chance Slip Away as Eagles take Game 2 in OT

The Bulldogs dropped a 3-2 OT decision to the Surrey Eagles in Game 2 of the Coastal Conference Finals on Sunday night at the South Surrey Arena.  With the win, the Eagles lead the series 2-0.

The Bulldogs thought they had the Eagles right where they wanted them as they led 2-0 late in the 2nd period.  The Eagles had different thoughts as they got a late 2nd period power play goal to cut the lead in half, and found the equalizer with the net empty and just 59 seconds remaining in regulation time.

Caden Cranston, the league’s MVP would net the winner late in the 1st OT to stun the Bulldogs.

It’s the exact spot the Bulldogs found themseleves in one year ago when they returned home down two games to none.  The Bulldogs rallied and took both at the Dawg Pound before ultimately pulling out Game 7 of the series in Surrey.  There is no doubt they will draw on that experience for motivation.  There is also no doubt that Surrey will remember that all to well and do their best to kick the Bulldogs while they’re down.

Samuel Leonard (2nd) & Nicholas Beneteau scored for the Bulldogs in the set back.

Callum Tung stopped 47 of 50 shots in the OT loss.

The Bulldogs box office is open Tuesday from 10am to 5pm, and at 10 am on Game Day Wednesday.  You can also buy your tickets for Game 3 by CLICKING HERE.
